Cartoners are specialized pharmaceutical packaging machines that can
accommodate paperboard and corrugated material and are used for a number
of applications. These machines are suited for bag-in-box application
and are easy and simple to operate. Semi automatic and compact cartoning
equipment include features like hand load, automatic bottle loading,
volumetric, auger and robotic filling. These machines are capable of
manufacture different sized/styles cartons. Cartoners have an output
ranging between 30 to 300 cartons per minute (CPM) depending on whether
the machine is vertical loading, intermittent cartoning or a continuous
motion model. These machines can handle blister strips and other
pharmaceutical packing. Types of Cartoners
- Horizontal cartoning: This machine erects a folded carton, filling it with a product horizontally through an open end and then closing it by tucking the end flaps of the carton or by applying adhesive. These machines are used for packaging confectionery, food stuff, medicines, cosmetics etc.
- Vertical cartoning: This machine erects a folded carton, filling it with a product vertically through an open end and then closing it by tucking the end flaps of the carton or by applying adhesive. These machines are used for packaging confectionery, food stuff, medicines, cosmetics etc.
- Wrap-around cartoning: This machine wraps a carton board around a product and secures it by applying adhesive or by engaging pre cut tabs. Mostly used for medicines and foodstuff.
