Demineralization Plant

Demineralization plant Demineralization or D.M. plants help to remove dissolved minerals from water to make it suitable for industrial and municipal use. In exchange and electrically driven membrane are the major methods for deionizing water. The process involves purifying water by filtering it through a tank containing beads of synthetic resin. These beads are chemically treated to either absorb negatively charged anions or positively charged cations.

Types of Demineralizers
  • Membrane Demineralizers : This system uses physical separation and in certain cases, electrical energy, to manufacture purified water. Reverse osmosis is the most common form of this process, producing pure water by passing it under pressure through a semi permeable membrane.
  • Mobile Demineralizers : This system is used for final polishing of water, treated by Reverse osmosis.
  • Mixed Bed Demineralization : This system allows anion and cation resins to be blended into a single tank or vessel. This system produces higher higher quality of water and is often used as a post treatment for Reverse Osmosis.
Application of Demineralizer Plant
  • Nuclear and thermal power
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Chemicals
  • Electronic components
  • Liquid detergents
