Fluid bed dryers are used for gentle and rapid drying of powders and
particles. This method has been in use in the pharmaceutical industry
for more than three decades. In the initial period, the machine was used
for rapidly drying pharmaceutical ingredients but over the years, the
equipment has been used for other applications including particle
coating, pellet coating, pellet formation, drug layering etc. The raw
material/ingredient to be dried is fluidized by passing hot air through
it, setting the particles in motion. The fluid bed is imparted with
unique properties as air travels through it, allowing for improved
mixing. The machine helps to agglomerate particles, instantise the
product, improve its flow properties etc. Fluid bed dryers are equipped
with PLC for automated process control and allow proper humidity control
and air heating process. Advantages of Fluid Bed Dryer:
