Submersible pumps are special pumps with the motor and pump assembly
located below ground at the bottom of the well column. The whole
assembly is submerged in the fluid to be pumped. The motor of this pump
is normally sealed in oil-filled cavities to protect them from
contacting with the transfer media. Motors of these pumps are engineered
and constructed in a manner to operate for long duration and are
normally filled with dielectric oil for motor heat transfer as well as
for lubricating of the internal moving parts of the motor. Cooling down
of the pump's motor is also assisted from the liquid that it is in
contact when in use.Benefits of Submersible Pump
- In a large installation, there is a significant reduction in the amount of concrete required to build the reservoir since a separate dry-well is not required.
- Easier to install · Costs less to purchase
- Quieter in operation
- Don't require separate housings or covers for weather protection
- Waste management
- Irrigation
- Residential projects
- Municipal water supply
- Recirculating water system (fountains)
